Braemar Castle, near Braemar in Aberdeenshire, is a possession of the chief of Clan Farquharson and is leased to a local charitable foundation.
The 17th century Braemar Castle (Farquharson Castle) is currently undergoing a £1.6 million restoration. The exterior of Braemar Castle has been stripped for the removal of the old harling. Archeologists are currently on site to carry out archeological digs on the castle and surrounding area.
