SAWS exists to educate its members and the general public about Scottish and Scottish-American history, culture, and traditions; to celebrate the contributions of Scots and Scottish-Americans in the United States; to promote, preserve, and perpetuate Scottish heritage, traditions, and customs; and to enhance the bonds between Scotland and North America, in particular the Washington, D.C. area.
